More bullet points. Yay.

  • I don't know why I've never thought of mixing marmalade with natural yogurt before, but it is actually pretty good. I'm definitely not my most creative at the kitchen.
  • The choreography of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" music video = The most ridiculous and unintentionally funny choreography I've ever seen!
  • Finished with final projects! ICE CREAM TIME!
  • Last Sunday, my mother, my sister and I spent about 10 hours trying to find wedding dresses for my aunt's wedding. The receipt we brought back home stated that our only purchases were food and gladiator sandals for my sister. Finding wedding dresses is SO FREAKING HARD. We went to three malls and two department stores.
  • BUT, AH, I managed to find a wedding dress. Sort of. My aunt (the one who's getting married) let me borrow a dress. A dress my mom bought her for her birthday, but she hasn't used yet. He he...
  • Found $100 Guess shoes, and bought them for $20. Oh, yes, they are so SHINY.
  • I did not actually think the whole Ronaldo-Real Madrid affair would come to fruition. Or the Kaká one. I'm still boggled. I don't think I'll really believe it until I see both of them wearing the RM kit. Sort of excited to see what might happen, because, aside from the talent and skill and "will-this-be-Galácticos-take-2" speculations, fashionistas Ronaldo and Ramos in one team = Me being entertained so much.
  • Want new icons.
  • Eh, that's it.
See you around.

People, people, people.

In an attempt to somehow redeem myself for being an incredibly crappy LJ friend I give you pictographic stimuli. Whether you’ve had a good, regular, or extremely awful day, you must remember that chocolate will always taste happy, in whatever variation you like best. What do you know, this might even make you crave your favorite bar, or mousse, or whatever, and your day will at least taste delicious. ♥

And now, the news in bullet points:

  • Oops, 13 weeks. I suck.
  • Ok, um. School has been going OK, except for those crazy weeks before I had to hand in all the documentation for the MEXUS program application, which apparently was successful. Now I have to deal on how to get my student’s visa.
  • MEXUS, yes, that’s a program between my university/college with Southwestern Community College and San Diego State University. It, um, starts next semester. Despite my apparent calm demeanor, I might be a little terrified. But just a little. Really.
  • Have I ever mentioned I dance? Dance Hula dances? Those with the coconuts and the skirts and the baring-your-midriff kind of dances? No? Maybe? Huh. Well, I do. I used to when I was in elementary school, then I left it to focus on basketball during junior high and high school, but I went back, and this is my third year. Even though my midriff isn’t quite as toned as I’d like. Too weak to give up food and too lazy to exercise. How about that?
  • Our Hula academy was actually going to participate on the Heiva 2009, in Guadalajara, from May 1st to May 3rd, and I was among the chosen ones to participate (yay!). But guess what? Swine flu paranoia struck and it had to be postponed, which might not have been such a bad thing, as I somehow managed to hurt my back really bad just three days before competition.
  • Swine flu. Our classes were cancelled from April 28th to May 6th. To tell the truth, it became increasingly difficult to discern accurate information from sensationalist reports, as you all may know.
  • While I was stuck at home (which was awesome, I mean, whole days in my pajamas) I started to watch Merlin. I fell so hard. ♥ Whyyyyyyy?!
  • I might have cried a little for Liverpool, for everything. And I’m totally rooting for Barcelona.
  • I, uh, need to do homework, and study for an exam. And I hate final projects, just for the record.

Have a lovely day/night, everyone!

:)

Yesterday, a friend and I watched the first, um, 10 minutes of REC, I think.

The moment I saw a jugular vein being teared off a man's neck, I went "Um, hell no, I'm not watching this."

Just now I google'd the movie, and read the synopsis.

Just reading it made me scared out of my pants. Ugh.

I hate scary movies.

We also watched Casi Divas (♥) and Team America (WTF?!).

Movie night > Homework.

So far...

Overall, I’m not doing very well at the whole “I’ll be a better LJ user/friend”. And I’m terribly sorry. I also find that most New Year’s resolutions start to wan as February starts.

People: If you ever get a chance to go to a cruise, do it. I mean, seriously. DO IT. It turns out to be incredibly cheap for everything they give you (services, activities all day long, shows, clubs, not having to clean, cook, make your bed, and so on…)

Food is included with your ticket. And I mean all the food. Buffet, people. Ok, so I felt really horrible every time I’d eaten too much, and mostly because the timing wasn’t very beneficial for my “I’ll really lose weight this year” resolution, but I still enjoyed it greatly. Oh, there’s 24/7 ice cream, pizza and burgers as well.

It. Was. Paradise.

Especially for lazy people like me.

A week after I came back, though, school classes started.

And my upper back hurts like hell. And I don’t even know why.

Also, tomorrow I do my TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). It’s been so long since I’ve had a proper English class that I feel a bit rusty in the whole Reading Comprehension and Structure and whatnot. I did it about 4 years ago, and I think I did well, but since then I know it’s been made more complex, and, um, I need a good grade for an interchange program I’m hoping to get into, and, well, yeah, I’m kind of scared.

Peace out.

I'm going on a cruise tomorrow.

My parents went to one 2 years ago, and decided we should all go this year.

Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.

IT WILL BE AWESOME.

(Apparently there's a booth where you can get ice cream 24/7. OMGYAY!)

I'll be back next Sunday.

And I know it was terrible of me, but I did read about your holidays, and even though some were good and others not-so-good, I hope you all have a wonderful year.

Peace out.

I am now posting from my own computer!

Dad got a LCD-sort-of flat t.v. at a garage sale some time ago and I tried to see if it would work as a computer monitor and freaking hell it does and I am so happy omg tears of joy!

Also: I am not obsessing over the whole Liverpool-Real Madrid.

I'm not.

I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not ok I might be a little.

Good things and bad things have happened lately.

The bad:

My computer monitor sort of... burned itself. Not quite with flames, though. A couple of weeks ago, a strange odor invaded my room, like burning plastic, and I sniffed around until I found the source. I shut the computer off, but I still needed to turn in a couple of final projects. Thankfully, next time I turned it on, the monitor worked fine for some hours, so I was able to complete one of my projects. The other one, I had to use my sister's virus-infested laptop, which did bring me into hysterics at its refusal to cooperate.

Dad went to some computer-fixing shoppe and was told my monitor had no hope. So now I've got the computer resting on my desk, sad and lonely and monitor-less. And I'm forced to negotiate laptop time with my little sister.

Poo.

Good things:

Had the house painted. On the inside. The whole thing (um, except for the closets and one bathroom). It all looks so nice and new and clean and we've been ridding ourselves from stuff we don't need anymore. Most of the walls were painted with a white-beige color, and the living room/dining room has two Cayenne walls, which is  the color of bricks. My sister and I had two of our walls painted a dark purple, which I think is great because my room gets a lot of sunlight and it was  annoying walking into my room and getting almost blinded by the white walls. My parents had their room painted a beige-brown color. It looks relaxing.

Getting my room painted meant I had to take everything out of it, and therefore an incentive to get everything reorganized and cleaned. So the winter clean-up is done with. I also managed to balance myself on the edge of my bed to hang a round decorative cover around the light, which was something I had continuously wanted but forgotten to do.

So, nice and clean and pretty, people.

And the Christmas ornaments are out. Except we are not buying a tree, or getting a fake one, because, well, we painted the whole house on the inside, didn't we?

My sister and I have been going window shopping to the U.S. We have to get started on losing the weight we are going to gain on the holidays by walking lots and lots of miles. I firmly believe shopping (even if it's window shopping) is a great cardio workout.

So that's it, for now. I have to clean the mess I left in the kitchen.

Have a nice evening.

Confessions of a misbehaving lurker

I bet none of you remember me.

Why?

Because I must be the worst LJ user ever in the entire LJ world and I'm unbelievably sorry and so ashamed and oh my poor LJ and I've been sort of lurking for the past, what, five months and it is disgusting and really I just finished classes and I'm technically free for the holidays and I procrastinate so much that how can it be possible that I don't dedicate the time and effort LJ deserves? (Because screw homework; it's not nearly as entertaining as LJ.)

...

Yes, um.

What I mean to say is I'm sorry and I shall put my best effort forward to be a better LJ user from now on.

I wish you all the very best and for life to give you plenty of chocolate. Or if the case were that you don't like chocolate wth? I wish you maybe some granola. Or perhaps steak? Cheese and black olives? Maybe Dr. Pepper? Yes, that'll do.

Well, then.

I think it's time for bed.

A friend sent me a link to this article posted in some blog, and it inevitably led me to this.

But my favourite bit:

Needless to say, Voldemort's reign of terror is put to an end. But the worst bit is the goddamned epilogue. Not content with tying up all the loose ends and leaving the hero completely intact with only the scar he arrived with, Joanne Rowling insulted our intelligence by providing a sugary sweet ending which - 18 years later - sees Ron and Hermoine happily married and Harry settled down with Ginny Weasley.

Seriously? This guy saves the entire wizarding world and they marry him off to a ginger bird? His best friend's sister? Bill should have stood aside and offered him Fleur Delacour. It's only right. Damn you, Rowling.

It's been almost a year, and the whole epilogue affair still amuses me, as does any baffled reaction to it.

And it's not even that funny. Which means I must have problems if I giggled for two solid minutes.

(Also, I'm pretty sure Voldemort wouldn't have lasted two books and a half if that was the Harry he was coming up against.)

Given that they sell it only in the U.S., and that it's not as massively distributed as other leading carbonated soft drinks, the times I get to enjoy this are very rare. A couple of times every 4-6 months, maybe.

But...

They now sell it at a local supermarket. They even come in six-packs.

(This is probably not ideal for my health, but, whatever, I hardly drink any other sodas, anyway. And this is just lovely.)

:)

Also: I've been victim of an annoying oral ulcer for the past days. Thankfully, it's going down now, and it doesn't hurt anymore.

My journal needs more pictures, and due to an accidental and entirely unnecessary overexposure of a man-bag wearing Portuguese winger, I've decided to counterattack and do a small picspam of one of my own pretty men.

However, I seem to have more pictures of a silly nature than of "OMG!Hot" nature.

(Thanks to [info]tessalonso  for the match screencaps.)

Yes, I DIED. ♥

Ah, well, since I already got a theme, on with the dorky pictures.

Someday, bebé, I will post your prettiness and awesomeness and share, OK? Not today, though. Today I was aiming for the silliness factor.

Technically speaking, fitting shirts in sports allow the player liberty to move without a lot of restraint, as the design is aerodynamic, comfortable, and, thus, doesn't interfere when the player is in need of running.

That said, why the rest of the teams don't use a little bit fitter shirts is beyond me.

(Yes, I did watch the match. I managed not to get too distracted by this.)

I have painted my nails and toenails successfully without spilling anything at all.

Oh, the joy!

And I let them dry while watching the Spain-Greece match, without ruining even one with my flailing at Spain's captain.

( A commentator called the Greek goalkeeper "George Clooney". Yes, he was that gorgeous. Mmm.)

Just for the record:

I refuse to believe any of it, until there's an official statement from the club itself or any pictorial evidence. If any of this were to happen, I'll still probably won't believe, because it's just plain ridiculous.

(Yes, it's denial.)
